Hampsicora
unique (one in the world at a time) · never alongside Scout, Master Hunter · never for 11 of the cultures.
Effects: +1 Ambush, +1 Influence, +2 Line of Sight, +1 Naval Command
According to the tradition, Sardinia was occupied by Rome in the year 238 BC, after the First Punic War, taking advantage of the precarious situation experienced by Carthage during the Mercenary War. The persistent resistance of the local communities to the Roman conquest reached its peak during the Second Punic War with the so-called Hampsicora's rebellion (216-215). Hampsicora, whose origin is uncertain although some sources describe him as a Sardo-Punic landowner, was a pro-Carthaginian Sardinian leader who gathered an army with the support of Carthage but was eventually defeated by the Romans.

Hesiod was a Greek oral poet generally thought by scholars to have been active between 750 and 650 BC, around the same time as Homer. The Works and Days is a didactic poem of some 800 verses written by the ancient Greek poet Hesiod around 700 BC. At its center, the Works and Days is a farmer's almanac in which Hesiod instructs his brother Perses in the agricultural arts. Scholars have seen this work against a background of agrarian crisis in mainland Greece, which inspired a wave of colonial expeditions in search of new land.

Hieronymos of Kardia - Historiai
never alongside Polybius - Historiai.
Effects: +1 Command
Hieronymus of Kardia, Greek general and historian from Kardia in Thrace, was a contemporary of Alexander the Great. He wrote a history of the Diadochi and their descendants, embracing the period from the death of Alexander to the war with Pyrrhus, which is one of the chief authorities used by Diodorus Siculus (xviii.-xx.) and also by Plutarch in his life of Pyrrhus. He made use of official papers and was careful in his investigation of facts. The simplicity of his style seemingly rendered his work unpopular to people of his time.
